In the 2015/2016 school year the Regional Teacher Development Centre ‘WOM’ in Częstochowa in cooperation with the Centre for Education Development in Warsaw (aka ORE) is implementing a project called ‘Multicultural and anti-discrimination education. Diversity among us’.
Within the frame of the project, on April 26, 2016 there took place the ‘Multiculturalism in contemporary schools’ seminar. The speakers, being the leaders of multicultural and anti-discrimination education, presented good practices in multiculturalism. Ms Joanna Myślikowska talked about a project realised with young people. This ‘Memory for the future’ project was prepared by the Centre for Education Development in Warsaw and the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in cooperation with the Children of the Holocaust Association in Poland. Ms Marzanna Gromotowicz and Ms Agnieszka Mrowiec-Smaga shared their expertise in implementing international projects. Ms Anna Sosna, the coordinator of ‘the Living Library’ presented this action as a tool for multicultural education.
The participants had an opportunity to learn about specific activities that could become an inspiration to launch educational initiatives and projects concerning multiculturalism.
The seminar was organised by teacher consultants of RODN ‘WOM’: Ms Dorota Liberda, the regional ORE project coordinator, and Elżbieta Straszak.
